Hello!
My name is Jessica Schummer and I currently teach grades 6-8 at the Bruce School District. I also coach Varsity Cross Country and MS Girls' Basketball. I grew up in rural Fall Creek, WI. My family home is in the countryside between Fall Creek and Augusta. I was an avid reader as a child, which is still true of my life today. I remember winter days stretched out on the sunny living room carpet diving into the adventures of Harry Potter. There were many nights where my mother had to tell me to "put the book down and go to bed". Now, as an English teacher, I have the opportunity to share the books I love and get kids excited about reading. I graduated from Fall Creek High School in 2010. I attended UW-Eau Claire from 2010-2014, graduating Summa Cum Laude in addition to attaining Departmental Honors and University Honors Program distinctions. During that time, I was a trombonist in the Blugold Marching Band, a camp counselor, and an adventurous missionary. I graduated in December 2014 with a degree in History and English Education (6-12). My parents still live in my childhood home outside of Fall Creek. I have a brother, Jon, who lives and works in Phoenix, AZ as a web developer. My boyfriend, Evan, is a PhD student at the University of Michigan, where he is studying Organic Chemistry. Two days after finishing my student teaching, I began my long-term sub position at the Bruce School, from January-June of 2015. I had the blessing of being able to return last year for my first "full year" here as a Red Raider (2015-16), and am looking forward to another AMAZING year! |
